When it comes to product development, testing plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of the final product. But why is testing so important in this process? Let's delve into the key reasons why testing is essential for product development. Ensuring Product Reliability One of the primary reasons for conducting tests during product development is to ensure the reliability of the product. Through rigorous testing, developers can identify and address any potential issues or defects in the product before it reaches the market. This helps in building a reputation for quality and reliability among consumers. Validating Functionality Testing also helps in validating the functionality of the product. By running various tests and simulations, developers can confirm that the product performs as intended and meets the specified requirements. This is crucial for ensuring that the product delivers the expected value to the end-users. Identifying Bugs and Defects Another important aspect of testing is the identification of bugs and defects in the product. Through comprehensive testing, developers can uncover any issues that may impact the user experience or the performance of the product. By addressing these bugs early on, developers can prevent costly recalls or negative reviews.

When it comes to achieving a cool, comfortable night’s sleep, not all cooling comforters are created equal. Whether you’re a hot sleeper or someone looking to combat the effects of night sweats, investing in the right bedding can make all the difference. With countless sellers on Amazon for cooling comforters, we reviewed five popular brands that were selling at a similar price range and compared it with Rest. Questionable Quality of Amazon Cooling Comforters As a marketplace that sells almost everything, Amazon is convenient to find products across categories and price ranges. However, this often leads to products that can be subpar as the barrier for entry as sellers and brands is low. Insufficient quality assurances are a leading cause for refunds and disgruntled shoppers. How can you tell if a comforter is good quality? When reviewing comforter quality, we looked at material, such as choice of shell fabric and fill, along with production, such as workmanship and quality control. Starting from its smallest component, having thinner fibre structures translate to how smooth the fabric is, once woven together. For some of the brands, their yarn weren’t fine enough, resulting in a rougher texture with noticeable granular feel as you slid your hand across the blanket. When unboxing, many comforters had a lot of wrinkles, and is also indicative of lower quality fabrics. Excessive wrinkles is caused by yarn that doesn’t align as closely, leaving room for them to move and crease. Competitor workmanship of comforters and blankets ranged from average to great, with two standouts that had good attention to detail. That said, we noted issues with quilting and filling, where uneven filling caused some areas to be thicker than others. As well, some brands skimped on filling, leading to a very thin feeling blanket or chose lower quality fill which can be rough and coarse. Both are meant to save on material cost but can compromise efficacy of a cooling blanket. By contrast, Rest uses advanced material and manufacturing innovations to craft each Evercool® Cooling Comforter, offering unparalleled luxury and durability. Starting with our fibres, which are finer than 1/99th of a hair strand, the Evercool® fabric is supremely smooth and densely woven so it’s stronger than silk. From there, each comforter is meticulously fabricated with precision using purpose-built machines, ensuring even fill distribution and quality quilting. Using eco-friendly, plant-based TENCEL™ and Sorona® filling blend, the natural fibres help maximize breathability and moisture management to create the best cooling comforter. Cooling Factor and Q-Max Value The true test of a cooling comforter lies in its ability to regulate temperature effectively throughout the night. Almost all of the reviewed comforters had a Q-max rating of 0.40, where the higher the number, the cooler to touch temperature. For reference, silk has a value of around 0.20, which for many already feels quite cool. However, when purchasing cooling comforters, ensure products do not simply rely on breathable materials like cotton or linen as they are not inherently cooling. For example, the Evercool® Cooling Comforter integrates specialized cooling fibers to maintain a consistent temperature, even during the hottest nights. This also results in an instant cooling sensation when you touch it, making it one of the best cooling comforter for hot sleepers who need reliable relief from night sweats. No Unwanted Chemical Smells Another crucial aspect where Evercool® outshines many Amazon alternatives is in its lack of chemical odors upon unboxing. In all of the cooling comforters we reviewed, every one had a slight chemical smell. Many cooling comforters available on the market are treated with chemicals to enhance their cooling properties, which can result in a strong, unpleasant smell when first opened. This chemical treatment also can be washed off, meaning a less effective cooling blanket after a few washes. However, with Rest’s innovative material science, fibres are woven to form a proprietary fabric that’s naturally cooling to touch and dissipates heat rapidly. Evercool® Cooling Comforter does not have a chemical smell. For those with sensitivities or allergies, this is particularly important to avoid comforters that require off-gassing or have lingering odors that can disrupt your sleep. Free from harsh chemicals and toxic finishes, Evercool® can be unboxed without worry, as you'll be met with an odorless, high-quality blanket. Built to Last: No Pilling and No Snagging Mediocre material choices can mean a product unravels at its seams quicker (pun intended). Almost every blanket and comforter used fabrics that were very thin, which would either snag easily or will likely be pilling after extended use. Pilling is a common issue with lower-quality fabrics, especially after washing. It not only affects the look of the comforter but also its feel, making it less comfortable over time. Rest’s Evercool® has been rigorously tested to be durable and retain its integrity, even with regular use and washing. With its super dense woven structure, our premium Evercool® fabric stays soft and smooth for years, outperforming many of the most popular cooling comforters available on Amazon. Rather than repurchasing more economical cooling comforters that will inevitably breakdown in a short amount of time, it can arguably be better to invest in high quality bedding that are built to last. Evercool® Cooling Comforter Evercool® Cooling Comforter When it comes to choosing the best cooling blanket, Rest has a lot of experience, especially having created the internet's very first cooling comforter with Evercool®. As the originator of cooling comforters, it continues to outshine many of the alternatives sold on Amazon. From its superior craftsmanship and advanced cooling technology to its chemical-free freshness and durability, Evercool® offers a level of quality and comfort that’s hard to beat. While Amazon may offer a variety of options at much lower price points, none come close to the restful, cool sleep that Evercool® delivers night after night.

You may have heard the term “bed rotting” trending on social media, with influencers and many others describing it as a form of self-care. But what exactly is it, and how does it affect your mental and physical well-being? Let’s dive into the pros and cons of this self-care trend, answer some common questions, and discuss how bed rotting may impact sleep health and mental wellness. What Is Bed Rotting? Bed rotting refers to the act of staying in bed for extended periods, typically engaging in minimal activities, such as scrolling social media, binge shows, read or to nap. Some people do this to unwind or deal with burnout, while others may simply find it comforting. While bed rotting might sound appealing, there are pros and cons to be aware of. Is Bed Rotting Good for Your Mental Health? There are potential benefits to bed rotting, particularly as a break from daily stressors. Temporary Stress Relief: For some, staying in bed can serve as a mental reset. If you're exhausted from work, social obligations, or simply overwhelmed by life, taking some downtime to "rot" in bed can allow your body and mind to slow down. Studies have shown that brief periods of rest can reduce cortisol levels (the stress hormone) and help alleviate burnout. Form of Self-Care: Taking a guilt-free break from a busy lifestyle and doing nothing can be a tempting solution. In moderation, giving yourself permission to simply rest can help you recover from physical or emotional exhaustion. When you're constantly "on," your mind can become overworked, leading to anxiety and restlessness. Bed rotting allows you to relax without any expectations. The Downsides of Bed Rotting While the occasional lazy day in bed can be soothing, prolonged periods of inactivity can have adverse effects. Impact on Mental Health: Although bed rotting may seem like a way to decompress, prolonged inactivity can actually worsen symptoms of anxiety and depression. Mental health professionals warn that extended periods of lying in bed can contribute to negative thought patterns, making you feel isolated, unmotivated, and even trapped. While rest is essential, excessive time spent in bed can make it harder to get up and engage with life. Physical Health Risks: Staying in bed for hours on end is also detrimental to your physical health. Prolonged inactivity can lead to muscle stiffness, joint pain, and reduced circulation. If you're spending more than a day in bed, you're also at risk of lower back pain, which can exacerbate feelings of discomfort and restlessness. Disrupted Sleep Patterns: ”Bed rotting can cause sleep problems both short-term and long-term,” says Rest sleep expert, Dr. Whitney Roban. Spending too much time in bed can confuse your body’s internal clock. “If you start doing things not related to sleep, you will start associating your bed with wakeful behaviors and not sleep,” Dr. Roban explains. This shift can make it harder to fall and stay asleep, particularly for individuals already dealing with sleep disorders like insomnia. Additionally, disruptions in consistent sleep patterns can have a profound impact on overall sleep quality. Maintaining a regular sleep schedule helps synchronize the body’s circadian rhythm, making it easier to fall asleep. Staying in bed all day bed rotting restricts exposure to natural sunlight, which is crucial for resetting circadian rhythm and could lead to sleep-wake cycle misalignment. FAQs About Bed Rotting Is Bed Rotting Bad for You? It depends. Short-term bed rotting, especially after a hectic week, may offer relaxation and stress relief. However, if it turns into a habit or lasts for days, it can negatively impact your mental health, sleep, and physical well-being. Can Bed Rotting Help with Burnout? Yes, but only in the short term. A day or two of rest can help alleviate feelings of burnout by allowing your brain and body to recharge. However, sustained bed rotting is not a long-term solution and can lead to a sense of disconnection and decreased motivation. What’s a Healthier Way to Rest? Rather than bed rotting for extended periods, aim for active rest. Take a short nap, practice mindfulness, or engage in relaxing activities like reading or light stretching. These activities help your body recover without the downsides of staying in bed all day. How to Strike a Balance If you're a fan of a cozy day in bed, that’s okay! But balancing rest and activity is integral. If you're feeling the need to recharge: Consistent sleep schedule is crucial for better sleep health. Set time limits on your bed rotting sessions to make your rest more intentional. Avoid using devices before night time bed rotting sessions. Ensure proper exercise, diet, and social interactions to minimize adverse health effects and promote overall well-being. Is Bed Rotting Right for You? Like most things, bed rotting is fine in moderation. While it can offer temporary relief from stress, spending too much time in bed may ultimately disrupt your mental and physical health. To get the most out of your rest, consider more active ways to unwind, and optimize your sleeping environment with Rest's cool comforters for a rejuvenating experience. Evercool® Cooling Comforter Evercool®+ Cooling Pillowcases Finding the right balance between rest and activity can make a world of difference for your well-being. So, the next time you’re tempted to stay in bed, make sure it's for the right reasons.

Understanding bed sizes can be confusing, especially with terms like “double” and “full” when mattress shopping. We’ll break down what you need to know about the difference in double and full bed sizes, compare them with other standard mattress sizes, and answer some common questions to help you make the right choice for your sleep space. Are ‘Double’ and ‘Full’ the Same Bed Size? What are the Dimensions of Double and Full Bed? Yes, “double” and “full” are the exact same mattress size and the name is often used interchangeably to refer to a bed size that is 54 inches wide by 75 inches long. This size is about 16 inches wider than a twin, making it a better fit for single adults who want extra room or couples willing to sleep in close quarters. Why is it Called a “Double Bed”? The term “double” was originally used to describe this bed size, as it was designed to accommodate two people. Over time, “full” gained popularity in North America to emphasize this size as a step up from a twin, though not as large as a queen or king. When first introduced, the double bed was marketed as “double” the width of a twin, offering more space for single sleepers or cozy quarters for couples. Despite its name, a double bed isn’t twice the size of a twin but does provide additional width, making it a comfortable choice for those wanting extra room. Standard Mattress Sizes Explained To understand where the double/full bed fits among other mattress sizes, here’s a look at the standard bed dimensions in North America: Twin Bed: 38 inches wide by 75 inches long Twin XL Bed: 38 inches wide by 80 inches long Full/Double Bed: 54 inches wide by 75 inches long Queen Bed: 60 inches wide by 80 inches long King Bed: 76 inches wide by 80 inches long California King: 72 inches wide by 84 inches long What’s Bigger than a Twin but Smaller than a Full? If a twin feels a bit cramped but a full bed is too wide, a Twin XL might be a perfect middle ground. Twin XL beds measure the same width as a twin (38 inches) but offer an extra 5 inches of length, making them ideal for taller individuals who don’t need a wider mattress. Twin XL mattresses and beds are often found in dorm rooms as it saves space while providing adequate sleeping area for students. Room for Two: Can Couples Sleep on Twin or Full Beds? One common question is whether two people can comfortably sleep on a twin or full bed: Twin Bed: Despite its name, at just 38 inches wide, a twin bed is really only suited for one person. It’s especially not recommended for two adults, although two children might manage. Full Bed: A full bed can technically fit two people, but each person would have about 27 inches of space (less than a twin bed width each). For couples who don’t mind close quarters, a full bed may work, but for a more comfortable sleep, a queen bed (60 inches wide) is usually a better choice. Special Configurations with Twin and Full Beds If you’re considering combining bed sizes or modifying your sheets, here’s what you need to know: Two Twin Beds Together: Putting two twin beds side by side won’t make a standard bed size. Two twin beds placed together would measure 76 inches wide by 75 inches long, which is as wide as a standard king bed but 5 inches shorter. If you would like the dimensions of a king bed, opt for two twin XL beds, which are longer and will result in a bed that is 76 inches wide by 80 inches long. Two Full Beds Together: Placing two full beds together would result in a size of 108 inches wide by 75 inches long, which is significantly wider than a king, creating a super-spacious setup often seen in luxury hotels. This setup would result in a bed size similar to the Alaskan king, which is 108 inches wide by 108 inches long. Sheet Size Compatibility Full Fitted Sheet on Twin XL Bed: Full-sized sheets are too large for a twin or twin XL bed and will not fit snugly, so it’s best to stick with either twin or full-size sheets and not assume they can be interchangeable. Queen Fitted Sheet for a Full Bed: Adjusting a queen-sized fitted sheet to fit a full may have be possible, though excess fabric is likely. In those instances, sheet clips may help ensure a smooth and taut sleeping surface. Mattress Heights for a Full Bed The standard mattress height for a full bed can vary widely, typically ranging from 8 to 14 inches, depending on the mattress type and brand. Higher mattresses offer more support layers, but keep in mind that a thicker mattress may require deeper pocket sheets. With its grippy, reinforced elastic band and superior stretch, the Evercool®+ Cooling Fitted Sheet can accommodate deep pocket mattresses up to 18 inches, allowing customized comfort and peace of mind. Evercool® Cooling Comforter Evercool®+ Cooling Starter Sheet Set Understanding the dimensions and options for each mattress size can make a significant difference in choosing the right bed. A double bed is the same as a full bed, and while it provides a bit more room than a twin, couples often find it a tight fit. If you’re deciding on a bed that comfortably suits your space and sleep needs, knowing the standard sizes and options for customization will help you create the perfect sleep environment.

We often think of acne as solely a skincare issue, but your pillowcase might be playing a bigger role in your breakouts than you realize. Pillowcases can easily trap dirt, oil, dead skin cells, and even acne-causing bacteria, creating a breeding ground for breakouts. Each night, as you sleep, your face comes into direct contact with this buildup, which can clog pores and irritate sensitive skin. The fabric of your pillowcase makes a big difference; some materials are better at keeping bacteria and oils at bay, while others may inadvertently contribute to skin issues. Common Questions About Pillowcases for Skin Health Let’s explore some of the most common questions about pillowcases, especially silk pillowcases, and how they stack up against Evercool®+. Are pillowcases responsible for causing acne and pimples, and does washing them often help prevent breakouts? Yes, pillowcases can contribute to acne, even if you follow a skincare routine and shower before bed. While daily cleansing removes much of the oil, dirt, and makeup residue from your skin, small amounts of natural oils, sweat, and dead skin cells are still transferred to your pillowcase every night. Over time, this buildup can accumulate, creating an environment where bacteria thrive. Even a recently washed pillowcase can quickly become a hotspot for acne-causing bacteria, which can easily transfer back onto your skin as you sleep, especially if you sleep on your side. This frequent exposure to bacteria and contaminants can clog pores, leading to irritation, blackheads, and breakouts. To minimize bacterial buildup, wash your pillowcases at least once every other week and launder your pillow (if washable) every three months. Alternatively, consider pillowcases with antimicrobial properties for cleaner, skin-friendly surface between washes while also promoting clearer skin over time. Is using a silk pillow case good for acne-prone skin? Silk pillow cases are often recommended for acne-prone skin because they are less abrasive, reducing friction on the skin. They’re also naturally hypoallergenic, which do make them a great option for those with sensitive skin. However, the studies are still inconclusive on whether silk can actively fight microbes, meaning its hygienic properties will still likely deteriorate at the same rate as cotton, another popular pillow slip material. How do pillowcases help in preventing or reducing acne? Pillowcases that reduce friction and actively resist bacteria can help minimize skin irritation and breakouts. As a surface your face is sleeping on nightly that can accumulate bacteria, dirt and oils, maintaining its cleanliness is paramount for prevention. When shopping for a pillow slip, look for ones that are antimicrobial, capable of combating bacteria to maintain hygiene and promote better skin health. Is silk or satin better for pillowcases when it comes to skin health? Both silk and satin are gentle on the skin, but offer varying benefits. As silk is a naturally hypoallergenic fabric, it can be a suitable choice for sensitive skin types, especially in reducing inflammations. However, silk is often more delicate and requires extra effort to care, such as hand washing. Satin on the other hand is easier to launder, which, with frequent washing, can prevent your pillowcase from harboring too many microbes before it’s cleaned again. Is sleeping on silk good for your skin, and are silk pillowcases the best choice for beauty rest? Silk can help reduce friction on the skin, which may lead to fewer wrinkles and breakouts. Silk is also favored for hair health as the smoothness minimizes breakage and causes less tangling during your sleep. However, as mentioned before, even though silk is antimicrobial on a microscopic level, studies have been inconclusive on whether those properties translate to actively killing bacteria on your sleeping surface, meaning it may still accumulate bacteria at the same rate as other fabrics over time. Do silk pillowcases really not absorb bacteria or absorb skincare? Silk is less absorbent than cotton, but it does not have properties that kill or prevent bacteria. This means that over time, bacteria can still build up on the surface. Are silk pillowcases worth the cost? Silk pillowcases are often pricey, and while they have benefits, they require special care and can wear out quickly. How long does a silk pillow cover last? With proper care, silk pillow covers can last a few years, but they are delicate and can lose their smooth texture over time if not handled properly. What material is best pillowcase for hair and face? A material that is gentle, breathable, and actively resists bacteria is ideal for maintaining skin and hair health. Popular options include silk and satin, but many new innovations in material science has allowed new fabrics to shine, such as Evercool®+. When it comes to pillowcases, finding the right material can make a huge difference in your sleep quality and skin health. While silk pillowcases have been popular for their smooth texture and long touted beauty benefits, new innovations in fabric technology can offer even more benefits, such as the Evercool®+ cooling pillow cases. Evercool®+ is a proprietary, next-generation fabric engineered to deliver fresh, long-lasting hygienic bedding that outperform traditional silk in cleanliness, durability, cost-effectiveness and most importantly, improves your sleep. Antimicrobial Pillow Case with IONIC+™ Technology Evercool®+ pillowcases are engineered with IONIC+™ technology, where silver yarn that has positively charged ions is woven into the fabric, resulting in an antimicrobial pillowcase that can actively resist bacterial growth. This unique technology helps reduce the buildup of bacteria on all Evercool®+ products, keeping your sleeping surface fresher between washes. Unlike silk, which may allow bacteria to accumulate, Evercool®+ provides a cleaner, more hygienic pillowcase option that supports clearer skin by minimizing bacteria exposure. Learn more about IONIC+™ technology here. Durable and Machine Washable Pillowcase Silk pillowcases are delicate and require extra care, making them less practical for daily use. In contrast, Evercool®+ is designed for durability and easy maintenance, allowing for regular machine washing without compromising the fabric’s quality. This resilience ensures that Evercool®+ cooling pillowcases maintain their efficacy and structural integrity over time, supporting a consistently clean sleeping environment, even between washes. Silky Smooth Comfort Without the Cost Evercool®+ pillowcases deliver the smooth, gentle surface associated with silk but without the high price tag. Their cost-effectiveness makes them an attractive option for those seeking enhanced comfort and skin health benefits at a more accessible price point with additional benefits. Evercool®+ Cooling Pillowcases Evercool®+ Cooling Pillowcases Pillowcases That Are Gentle on Skin and Hair Much like silk, Evercool®+ pillowcases are smooth and reduce friction, helping to minimize skin irritation, hair breakage, and frizz. Since our proprietary fabric is embedded with IONIC+® technology, an EPA-registered antimicrobial solution, Evercool®+ bedding contributes to a cleaner surface that reduces bacteria exposure, supporting clearer skin. Additionally, IONIC+® fibers have also received OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 accreditation, certifying that the material supports human ecology through biocompatibility and is free from harmful substances, meaning a safe and sustainable product that’s good for the body and environment. While silk pillowcases have been a popular choice for those looking to improve their skin and hair health, Evercool®+ offers a more advanced solution. With IONIC+™ technology, these pillowcases are actively antimicrobial, more durable, easier to care for, and more affordable than silk. Upgrade your sleep and skin care routine with Evercool®+ and try it for 30-nights, worry free.
